Resumen
El presente trabajo pretendió comprender y analizar el papel que desempeña la comunicación en la construcción de comunidad enfocándose en un estudio de caso realizado en el Centro Comunitario Distrital LGBTI, por medio del cual se realizaron importantes hallazgos sobre el proceso de construcción social y la influencia de las representaciones sociales hegemónicas en dicho proceso. Este trabajo de grado se realizó de manera descriptiva y analítica para generar un mayor acercamiento tanto a la población, como al espacio en el que se desarrollan todas las actividades. Entre los hallazgos más importantes está el hecho que en el Centro Comunitario Distrital no se realiza una construcción de comunidad como la que se describe de manera teórica, sino que se realiza un fortalecimiento de individuos que apoyan la transformación de imaginarios en la sociedad en la que se desarrollan, así como también, se ratificó la importancia de la existencia de un Centro Comunitario enfocado en esta población, pues empodera y beneficia a todas las personas que aprovechan este tipo de espacios.
Abstract
This study was focused on understanding and analyzing the role of communication in community building focusing on a case study that was performed at the District Community Center - LGBTI, through which important finding were realized about the social construction process and the influence of hegemonic social representations in that process. This thesis was done descriptively and analytically to generate a closer approach to the LGBTI population and the places in which all activities are developed. The most important findings are that the District Community Center does not perform community building as the one described in the theory, but it creates strengthen individuals who support the transformation of social imaginary in which they are part of, and on the other hand, it has confirmed the importance of the existence of a community center focusing on this population, it empowers and benefits all the people that use this type of service.
