Abstract
This investigation is divided in three chapters. The first one deals with the idea of retributive justice in the gospel of Mathew with the aim of confronting the Judaist and Greco-Roman mentalities. The second chapter presents the idea of justice in Saint Paul who develops It totally different from the way the gospel of Mathew does it. For Paul, justice is not obtained by mere observance of the law, simply is gotten through faith in Jesus Christ. In the third chapter, the author tries to show the transition of justice commonly known as retribution to the notion of justice known as salvation. In this part, he asserts that the human being is justified freely by God, He decides to save him by his loving will.
