Abstract
Through the Fingers it is a very intimate work that arises from the relationship between my father and me and his recent affliction (Alzheimer). A process that began 28 years ago, what I have in life, in which images are reflected in memory but vividly rescuing important elements, to then reveal these images in the form of a video installation. I rescued memories of a being that while his losing his memory, his image and his portrait will not fail to be present in my mind and in the viewer s. Told in two stages, two parts, one that introduces us and connects us via a video essay to a character we see and connect with in the second part. Consisting of archived footage rescued from the family album, making an analogy to the memory and told of almost linear fashion, showing past events that form an idea of who my father was. And a second part where time is not linear, is more a contemplation of the current state of my father, a moment in which time becomes useless and to change it back it s impossible. Becoming witness of those moments that together intersect I evidenced one time instants. Time is slowly leaving, trickles like water through your fingers. In conclusion it is a work based on the love of a son to his father, in which two times converge and create a panorama to contemplate the time and life.
