The Etnography of Devices as an Analysis Tool and Study of Managerialism as Local PracticeResumen
Bajo la influencia del llamado managerialismo, se han instalado diversos instrumentos de gestión que intentan transformar el trabajo en el ámbito público y privado. Este artículo se orienta a presentar la Etnografía de Dispositivos, como una estrategia investigativa que puede facilitar la comprensión de cómo estos instrumentos actúan a nivel local, participando como dispositivos de las redes de acción en la cual movilizan a sujetos y organizaciones, a la vez que son movilizados por estos. Se exponen sus fundamentos teóricos y se ilustra el uso de esta estrategia a través de un estudio de caso en el campo de la salud primaria en Chile.
Abstract
Under the influence of Managerialism, the work is changing under the action of different management tools. This article present the Device Ethnography as a research strategy that can facilitate the understanding of how these instruments operate locally, participating as devices in action networks which mobilize subjects and organizations, that are mobilized as well. We describe the theoretical foundations, and illustrates the use of this strategy through a case study in the field of primary health care in Chile.
