Abstract
The macroproject NEW STATION located in the center of the musical city of Colombia, Ibagué, is taken up from the academy and through a systemic vision of a walkable and diverse city. The flexibility of contemporary architecture is put to the test to recreate new urban landscapes in this important area of the capital of Tolima.
Seen from the beginning, the project was born from an introspection towards the section of territory (of which Patrick Geddes speaks in his book Cities in Evolution), where he seeks to know in depth the true gear that led to Ibague in 1909 to found the first musical conservatory in Colombia.
In this case, the social responsibility that architecture has with the new generations in the search for a fun, inclusive, sustainable and equitable type of city, mean that Ibague should aim to develop a NEW STATION, where pilot bicycle plans are implemented, parks in each block, the new tram system in the city, and why not? A cultural citadel in the old equipment lot.
