Abstract
The following thesis presents the controversy generated by the creation of the "School Environments Free of Discrimination" booklet by the Ministry of Education to follow up on an order of the Colombian Constitutional Court after the suicide of Sergio Urrego in 2014, which, due to its content, generated a political, religious and social debate, which focused mainly on the categories of new non-hegemonic gender identities, sexual diversity and gender perspective. Such was the scope of the debate, which indirectly impacted the results of the referendum on October 2. The media as generators of public opinion played a fundamental role in the case. They were responsible for transmitting their position on the facts through their media narratives, which were influenced by the ideological stance of the economic groups from which they are part of. This investigation, in particular, will analyze how did "Semana", "El Tiempo" and "Las 2 Orillas" narrated the facts, and how their ideological position influenced.
