Abstract
I am Maria Montoya, a character of real life and Latin melodrama, of the popular and the folkloric, of Catholic kitsch, of the cheesy punk and the plush subversive. I am a true figure, fractured, frosted, naked, disguised and transvestite. I do this not to die. I was punished and offended a thousand times, but Maria Montoya is my way of resisting. My weapons are everything in my life. I am the parody of my own catharsis. In my multiple incarnations I reinvent myself, I recognize myself in other bodies, other ideals, other realities. I build there and do whatever I want. With this I resignify in my performance the offense, build scenarios of emancipation and free myself from what I did to others and what they did to me: with this the offense ceases to be offensive.
