This Master´s thesis examines the way we are in the world. The main motivation is to understand the structures of that being that thrown into the world recognizes that he has a world and that he lives in the world among others for a limited period of time. The purpose is to unfold the fundamental properties that underlie under this being and that remain continously present throughout all changes. This Thesis examines chapters five and six of Martin Heidegger s well known philosophical work, Being and Time, where he develops his analitical work on being. Heidegger introduces the term Dasein to refer to being- in- the world, being with others and by things, and then in these chapters explains the fundamental structure of this Dasein which he defines as having three constituent components: mood, understanding and discourse. This thesis characterizes these three components and makes special emphasis in mood and discourse. In chapter six Heidegger analyzes care and then moves on to the interpretation of Dasein in terms of temporality where he introduces us to the possibility of an authentic life. This thesis also examines in detail these important themes.
