Parecen inofensivos los mitos, pero están vinculados directamente a la salud y al comportamiento y mentalidad de las personas, son los responsables de que se consuman o no los diferentes productos a los que se relacionan estas creencias, sin embargo en la actualidad, y gracias a la base científica de la que disponemos, es posible desmontar esas creencias y mitos, a veces muy arraigadas, recurriendo a las opiniones y consejos de verdaderos profesionales de la nutrición y la salud, ayudando así a tomar las mejores decisiones sobre estas, y de esta forma favorecer la salud de la sociedad. El objetivo del presente trabajo se centró en la detección de los mitos más frecuentes reportados por la industrias de bebidas y su respectiva revisión sistemática de publicaciones de literatura científica publicada en los últimos 12 años logrando identificar si el mito tiene razón de ser o no. Esto hará que la sociedad esté informada correctamente y se pueda romper la brecha que hay entre la industria y el consumo de las bebidas que se encuentran a nivel nacional. Mediante una encuesta realizada al Comité de la Cámara de Bebidas de la ANDI, se obtuvo la respuesta del 43% de los miembros que pertenecen a esta organización en donde se relacionó los diferentes mitos y con revisión sistemática de publicaciones científicas para determinar y demostrar si estos son verdaderos o falsos. En conclusión se destacan los principales mitos que están alrededor del efecto de las bebidas sobre el aumento de peso, efectos en términos estéticos, adicción y en efectos secundarios no deseados sobre el organismo. Analizando la información científica encontrada se evidencia que no hay estudio alguno que relacione en forma directa un efecto negativo sobre la salud proporcionada por las bebidas envasadas ofrecidas por la industria al consumidor.
Abstrakt
Myths may seem harmless, but the truth is they are directly linked to peoples' health and mentality and they are responsible for the consumption or not of different productos that are related to these beliefs, however, nowadays, and thanks to the scientific basis at our disposition, it is possible to dissassemble these beliefs and myths, sometimes deeply rooted, resorting to the opinions and advice of actual health and nutrition professionals, so as to aid in the better decisionmaking of them and in this way favoring society's nutrition. The purpose of this work was centered in the detection of the most frequent myths reported y the beverage industry and the respective systematic revision of publications of the scientific literature published in the past 10 years, achieving is the myth is baseless of not. This will result in a more informed society and in closing the division between industry and consumption of the beverages that can be found nationwide. Using a survey done to the Committee of the Bevarages Chamber of the ANDI, a response from 43% of the organization's members was obtained in which the different myths were related and through a systematic revision of scientific publications to determine and prove if they are true or false. In conclusion, the main myths revolve around the effects of beverages on weight gain, their effects in aesthetic terms, addiction as well as unwanted side effectos. Having anaysed the scientific information found, we found no study that directly relates to a negative effects provided by packaged.
