Resumen
El presente trabajo profundiza en cuatro novelas modernistas colombianas tituladas De sobremesa de José Asunción Silva, escrita entre 1887-1896 y publicada póstumamente en 1925, Resurrección de José María Rivas Groot (1901), Los parias de José María Vargas Vila, publicada en 1902 y La Vorágine, publicada en 1924 de José Eustasio Rivera. Se desarrollan tres aspectos relacionados con su pertenencia a la modalidad narrativa denominada novela de artista, estos son: contexto social, recepción y análisis. El trabajo inicia contextualizando la época del modernismo en Colombia y como algunos escritores eligieron como protagonista de sus novelas a un artista intelectual, manifestando, desde la creación literaria, su rol en la sociedad. Este trabajo se sumerge en el universo ficcional de los artistas protagonistas de las novelas seleccionadas, donde se presentan nociones relacionadas con el porqué, el para qué, el cómo, el que hacer y otras inquietudes que giran el torno al papel del arte y el artista en la sociedad.
Abstract
The present degree work explore into four colombian modernist novels titled De sobremesa (After-dinner) by José Asunción Silva, written between 1887-1896 and published posthumously in 1925, Resurrección (Resurrection) by José María Rivas Groot (1901), Los parias (The pariahs) by José María Vargas Vila, published in 1902 and La Vorágine (The Maelstrom), published in 1924 by José Eustasio Rivera. Three aspects are developed in relation with its membership to the narrative mode called novel artist, these are: Social context , reception and analysis. The work begins contextualizing the era of modernism in Colombia and how some writers chose an intellectual artist as the protagonist of their novels , expressing, from the literary creation, their role in society. This work is immersed in the fictional universe of the protagonists artists of the selected novels, wherein present notions related to the why, how, for what, and other concerns that revolve around the role of art and the artist in society.
