Abstract
This thesis is part of the 4Dilan Project and it was developed at the Valperga castle in the Piedmont in
Italy. The UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Photogrammetry technic was used to obtain the architectural
survey of the Valperga castle, having as a result a 3D georeferenced dense point cloud through different
softwares at the Geomatic Lab for the cultural heritage at Politecnico di Torino. LIDAR (Light Detection
and Ranging), was another method used to scan the facades of one of the medieval buildings (Fabbrica Thones), getting as a result a millimetric detailed point cloud, subsequently redraw in CAD. Based on the
analysis of the historical documents, the hypothesis of the presence of a structure of the 19th century in
the subsoil was developed; the GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) technic was used, showing the presence
of a structure 75 cm deep. The results produced are: a roof plan in scale 1:200 of the Valperga castle, an
ortophoto of the Arduinic Affresco (13th Century), a 3D model and planning drawings of the architectural
and territorial components of the area where the Valperga castle is settled. The accomplishment of this
thesis is a latent material which is very significant to the architectural and cultural heritage studies.
