The gestation by substitution has opened a political-religious debate where the anthropological concerns that they arise from this practice references on real situations such as the meaning of life, the body, the mother-child relationship, of dignity, of memory, but also of donation and reciprocity terms. For this reason the purpose of this research is focused on analyzing three Magisterium documents of the Catholic Church, Humane Vitae, Donun Vitae, Evangelium Vitae, which allow to demonstrate the fundamental reason why this practice is unacceptable to the Catholic Church since it represents an objective failure against the obligations of maternal love, marital fidelity and responsible motherhood; unleashing an affront to the dignity and right points of child to be conceived, gestated and brought into the world and be educated by his own parents. Therefore, as an alternative, adoption is presented as an option of life and love, which does not break the contents of the Magisterium documents of the Church in relation to gestation by substitution. The research paper clarifies the reason why it has begun to use the term substitution, to specify it is gestated for one and another that can not do so, coming to evidence the pregnant woman is not the mother because it includes a larger reality than gestation. Being a mother is a process that begins before the fertilization of the ovum by the sperm (wanting to be a mother) and lasts for a long time after the advent of child (having to be a mother). So motherhood is not surrogacy, what is surrogated is gestation.
