Violence against women : Guatemala’s postconflict legal redress regimerésumé
Abstrait
The complete reparation with a gender-based approach implies the recognition of the individual needs of female victims in an armed conflict and, from this, adopt the ideal mechanisms to meet those needs. The Guatemalan case is a display of how women were used as weapons of war and how, despite the rapes and the sexually slavery they were subjected to, the State was unable to generate a complete reparation with a gender based approach efficient enough for female victims. This void was filled by NGO's, who, through creative solutions have given women the reparations they needed and demanded.
