Approaches to "Free Creation" from the experience of jazz improvisationrésumé
Abstrait
Understanding that the sensitive capacity of the musical being as the starting point of any artistic conception, this project aims to develop a path that would preserve this sensitivity in its purest and most primal way. This path expose many ways of approaching the piano, and the same way, evidence new ways of creating and building landscapes and sound ideas. These multiple resources essentially respond to a higher idea: the conscience of freedom, which we gradually began to ignore and which we unintentionally replace with predispositions, useless and imaginary conditioning prior to the creation of a musical object.
The main interest in reflecting about sensitivity and freedom is the creation of musical works that have no pretence, that are stripped of these imaginary boundaries and the predispositions that hinder it. In this way, to be able to give a naturalness and a flow of its own to the process of composition bringing it closer to the vertigo of the uncertain.
As a jazz pianist and improviser I found in the resources that throughout my career I have learned, cultivated and perfected a technical and artistic tool that in time inhabits a different level from my conscience and will therefore be the raw material of creation.
This raw material finds its basis in simple concepts applied to any creative level: the singing as the first harmonic-melodic approach and rhythm as a present and permanent reaction in any musical act. With these two concepts is where the resources initiates for the free creation of 6 compositions that were in the beginning simple ideas and cells; they naturally forged the basic piano and drums format and in some compositions had the electric guitar and alto saxophone presence.
