Study of the insecticide and antifungal potential of essential oils of four aromatic plants that grow in ColombiaZusammenfassung
In the present study, the chemical composition of four essential oils was determined by GC-MS (EOs) Lavandula angustifolia, Mentha spicata, Laurus nobili and Petroselinum crispum, and their fumigant activity on the insect Tribolium castaneum and antifungal activity on the phytopathogenic fungus Lasiodiplodia theobromae was evaluated. Chromatographic analysis of the EOs made it possible to tentatively identify a total of 100 compounds, with monoterpenes being the majority components of the four oils. The oil with the highest fumigant activity was L. angustifolia, whose LC50 is less than 50 μL / L air. The study of the growth curve of the L. theobromae fungus made it possible to establish that there is no significant difference in growth and in the generation of reproductive structures when using PDA and agar- malt media. M. spicata oil showed the highest antifungal activity (LC50 76.53 μL / L air). Finally, it can be concluded that three of the four AEs studied have potential for the control of T. castaneum, while only two have antifungal potential on L. theobromae, with the EA of M. spicata showing good activity on the two pests studied.
