Apostolate of the laity in the 21st century from Can.225 in the CIC/83résumé
La santa madre Iglesia Católica a través de toda su historia se ha caracterizado por
estar presente en los más importantes acontecimientos de la humanidad, con el transcurrir del
tiempo los fieles laicos han estado presentes en todos los contextos mundiales aportando
desde su vocación a la evangelización en todos los rincones de la tierra, por su parte, la Iglesia
desde la antigüedad y hasta principios del XX no le brindaba herramientas efectivas para que
el laico pudiese desempeñar un papel protagónico en el desarrollo de su actividad laical.
Con la entrada en vigencia de la discusión en torno al Concilio Vaticano II los
máximos líderes de la Iglesia en todo el mundo se preocuparon por tener en cuenta en sus
disertaciones al fiel laico y regular sus condiciones mediante las cuales se estaba
desempeñando en todo el mundo, el Concilio Vaticano II reabre la tendencia de una Iglesia
Católica renovada y lista para seguirle sirviendo a la humanidad hasta el fin de la humanidad.
El Código de Derecho Canónico de 1983 fue un resultado de los documentos
conciliares que se expidieron con motivo del Vaticano II, toda vez que se debía cambiar la
percepción anquilosada del Código Canónico de 1917 a la luz del Vaticano II, sin embargo,
gracias al nuevo CIC/83 se dispuso cánones específicos mediante los cuales se le brindaban
al fiel laico derechos y deberes para cumplir con sus comunidades cristianas, el apostolado
es la característica fundamental mediante la cual el laico legalmente concebido a través del
bautismo debe cumplir con su Iglesia.
