Organizations are responsible for fully complying with the standards established by the country in which they are
located. The provision of clothing that the employer must provide to workers is just an example of these standards. Some
companies supplement the work wear, but do not have in consideration the comfort factor that is implicit in the clothing
supplied. If this factor isn't considered, a long-term problem is generated for both the company and the worker. When
employees are in inadequate conditions, they could begin to suffer from musculoskeletal disorders which generate costs for
the company due to the absenteeism of their workers and the inefficiencies to achieve companies goals. Therefore, the
design of a methodology that determines the appropriate parameters of an endowment dress for different trades is proposed
as a solution.
For the fulfillment of the stated objective, it was necessary to review existing methodologies to be based on the one that
best suits the established specifications. For the methodology proposed the first phase is "Needs of the jobs", where the need
to make an adjustment to the current clothing is validated. The second phase is "Construction of the clothing parameters"
where the parameters that the clothing should wear are projected based on the study of times, methods and movements,
and, the additional component that are the parameters and variables that are approached from the area of textile experts. The
third phase is "Clothing manufacturing" where the respective prototype is made based on the parameters thrown by the
methodology and it is validated if the garment meets the established standards of both the parameter factor and the human
factor. Something else that the methodology offers is that it is adaptable according to the objective and the availability of
tools of the people who apply it.
The proposed methodology was validated in a case study applied in dynamic and static trades. This validation was
useful to verify the structure of the methodology and to review its design step by step. It was found that an additional step
was lacking in the initial phase to investigate the need to perform the methodology and find the appropriate parameters for
the evaluated job, an aspect that is explained below. As validation, two prototypes were also produced as a result of the
parameters thrown by the methodology, which were accepted by the people who used them to carry out their daily activities
and expressed that they felt very comfortable using the prototypes.
