a nivel global.
Abstract
Nowadays, there is a challenge that affects all the companies of any industry in the world. This
challenge is the technological adaptation in the processes of those companies due to the digital
transformation Society is living. Some of the SMEs cannot afford the costs of these transformations;
however, those are required for competing in their own industry, or even in the worldwide market.
In Colombia, the manufacturing SMEs represent 80% of the labor market, and 35% of the country's
GDP. For this reason, it is necessary to create a method that allow their supply chain to respond as
fast as possible and start reducing the technology gap between SMEs and big companies.
In this method, it is necessary to characterize the processes of the manufacturing companies and
identify the technological opportunities that may be included in their supply chain. Cloud platforms
such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) is useful for developing the method. At the end, a platform will
be used in a manufacturing company, with all of the technologies that we identify as useful for improving supply chain processes, and the impact of the company will be measured based on some
key performance indicators aligned with a corporate balanced scorecard and strategy as well.
