Interaction of the jazz piano language with the music of the Venezuela's central-western regionrésumé
Abstrait
The project designated here includes a year of research, composition, arrangements and recording of six own musical works inspired by certain Venezuelan rhythms, specifically those of the central western region (Zulia State, Miranda State and Caracas). The investigation of this folklore is articulated with the language of jazz on the piano learned throughout the author's university period together with her approach to different African-American manifestations. Each work, through the lyrics and the character put into its arrangements, reveals a different facet of the personality of the composer, giving this record production a personal nuance that transcends the academic and the ethnomusicological.
