Abstract
To the editor: Arshad et al.1 discussed the implications of
opt-in and opt-out donation strategies in 35 Organisation for
Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. They showed no difference in either kidney donation or
transplantation rates, suggesting other barriers for donation
and transplantation. In Colombia, a law passed in 2016
abolished explicit consent, and starting in 2017, established
presumed consent for organ donation. We analyzed the official registry of organ donation that occurred from 2015
to 2018.
