Systematization of criteria for the identification of predatory journals to support the research processrésumé
Abstrait
The development of this research work proposes a methodology to achieve a systematization of different criteria or indicators of predatory journals, which have been exposed by researchers and scientific-academic institutions, which have been concerned about the exponential growth of journals with unethical practices in its review, evaluation and selection of manuscripts, reaching the point of applying minimal or almost no peer review, solely in order to capture the greatest amount of financial resources. The above has turned them into a fraudulent publication model that implies the charging of publication fees, also known as article processing fees or APC, to institutions or authors, without the latter being able to really verify the quality and legitimacy that it is published.
Likewise, it seeks to generate alerts to the entire scientific community, against those journals that are included in "black lists" and that have managed to be indexed in scientific databases with high international recognition such as Web of science (Wos) and Scopus , in which researchers from all areas and different disciplines have published, since due to ignorance of the subject or naivety in the face of the different commercial strategies that these types of journals have implemented in order to capture their attention in terms of citations and to bring researchers to publish their scientific-academic contributions in them.
In accordance with the above, the purpose of this research work is to provide teachers and public and private information units with criteria that can be easily and quickly applied, and that make it possible to identify whether or not a scientific journal has predatory characteristics. In this way, it seeks to implement the use of a tool that reduces the sending of any type of document that has been the result of arduous research work, to journals with bad practices, since the long-term risks for both authors and institutions can be very tall.
Therefore, the results of this research activity is to publicize the negative effects of publishing in them, such as: the impact on the quality of research institutions, and the curriculum of a researcher; seeking to favor the progress, development and evolution of a science with quality, ethics and professionalism.
