The diary of a MachoResumen
Abstract
For me there are three elements that construct my work: Art and fashion in one way, the medical and scientific environment in the other. And the social performances of the patriarcal society in Colombia at last. From this discursive thinking I describe myself. But form the critic side, I unsubscribe myself for reflecting me with the others and stop being a "virgin". For recognize myself from the "categories" performed by the bodies and constantly ask about that unique identity we permanently look for.
We, the academic/ artist and the body, make the "macho" voice more and more quiet for letting experiment variations in the body performance. To that, today we let it in, before we mute it, we ignored it, we force it and even forget it.
In a space where we were forced to be the role model men, we arrived the emptiness we could, full of insecurities and playing starring roles we do not even owned them. Those were the bodies we hate living in.
Who said that the white men had to have the starring role? Who let it wrote that it must be a men and not a woman, gay, "butch queen", "Butch queen in drag", "femme queen", "vogue femme" or queer?
