Social network analysis : venezuelan migration and connection with coffee jobs Tolima - Colombia 2019Resumen
Abstract
Venezuelan migration is a phenomenon of great impact in the Colombian territory. Indeed, according to information from Migración Colombia in the country, as of October 30, 2019, there were around 1,630,903 Venezuelan citizens (CONPES 3950, 2018). Tolima in 2018 reported that 3,500 Venezuelans entered, but at the beginning of 2019 it was estimated that the number would exceed 7,000. (Radio Caracol, 2019). This migratory phenomenon has generated an increase in the different informal jobs in the department, among which one to highlight is the coffee harvest in the south of the region. Steration in day-labor coffee activities by the migrant population is a milestone never seen in the department, where traditionally this activity has been carried out by the Colombian population, but since the arrival of the Venezuelan migrant wave, coffee activities have been permeated to a great extent by the migrant population. The Analysis of Social Networks allows to understand the migratory phenomenon from the facilities that the migrant's social network can provide, since through the formation of different interpersonal ties the exchange of information is allowed, a factor essential for the development of migration, since it facilitates the migration process, as well as interconnecting different individuals to the network.
