Design of a Q&A and gamification webinar format for corporate trainingResumen
Abstract
Corporate training improves the efficiency of the organization's workers and contributes to their personal and professional
development. As a result of COVID-19, companies have resorted to teleworking; 98% of companies operate remotely in
Colombia, thus changing the way of managing human resources and training processes. Likewise, the support and training
of the workforce has become important in a virtual work environment, in order to maintain the level of productivity and
establish sustainable training strategies. It is here where virtual education models such as webinars prove to be a useful
alternative for organizations. The present research aims to identify the impact of webinars with question and answer
(Q&A) sessions and gamification elements on the level of employee learning.
The research determined the effect that Q&A and Gamification factors have on the learning level of the participants of
the company Integra S.A. (public transportation company). The research was developed in 3 parts: (1) non-experimental
research, (2) experimental research for pure experiments and finally, (3) testable research. The first stage (1) was divided
into four phases: (a) empirical research, which included a TOPSIS bibliometric and multicriteria decision analysis. The
second phase (b) qualitative research through in-depth interviews to identify the research axes and training needs of the
company. Subsequently, in phase (c) quantitative research, the association or relationship of the independent variables
with the level of learning was found. Finally, phase (d) first part of the experiment Pre-Test Post-Test with a control
group to identify the initial knowledge level of the participants. In the second stage (2), a general full factorial design 2
2
was performed to analyze the effect of the design factors: question and answer (Q&A) session and gamification on the
Level of learning. For this stage, participants were randomly selected and homogeneously assigned to the factorial groups
ensuring equal initial conditions among participants. Finally, for stage (3), seven days after the end of the experiment, the
Post-est was implemented, with which it was evaluated whether any of the treatments had generated significant learning
regarding the topic, reducing the memory effect.
The design process began with the quantitative research, which yielded the topic of "Time management for discipline and
organization at work". Then the contents of the training were drafted and the support material for each factorial group
was created. For the creation of the game, the best option for its development is the Kahoot application and the use of the
Fill the black style. Additionally, the content performance tests were performed and the requirements that were
considered necessary for the situation were adjusted. Once the content was validated, the Whatsapp groups were created
for the 12 trainings of the 3 weeks. The results obtained show that the level of learning of the employees was higher after
the trainings (M = 88.33) than at the beginning of the experiment when the pretest was applied (M = 82.36), in addition,
the group With Q&A and With Gamification obtained the highest statistically significant difference in the level of
learning (10.5). Also, the univariate linear model shows that the factors Q&A, Gamification and Q&A*Gamification
significantly affect the behavior of the variable Note evaluation. The economic analysis of the research established that
the proposed training format has a 58.4% cost savings over traditional classroom training
