Resumen
Identificar los conocimientos que tienen los cuidadores de niños de 9 meses a 24 meses de edad sobre los signos y síntomas según la estrategia AIEPI para reconocer la IRA y las causas que los llevan a consultar a un servicio de salud. Se implementó una metodología cuantitativa que se utilizó para obtener los datos del análisis, para la recolección de datos se utilizó una encuesta que contienen doce preguntas relacionadas con la IRA. se encuestaron a 20 cuidadores de niños de 9 a 24 meses Los participantes se encontraron en un rango de edad de los 19 a 57 años, el cuidado de los niños estaba a cargo predominantemente del sexo femenino, el nivel de educación predominante fue secundaria y la ocupación sobresaliente fue la de ama de casa. La mayoría de cuidadores no tienen suficientes conocimientos sobre la enfermedad, por ende se presentan las consutas a los servicios de salud tardiamente y las complicaciones. de allí nos surgió la idea de generar una cartilla como estrategia educativa para los cuidadores con el fin para fortalecer los conocimientos, para lograr una oportuna identificación de los signos y síntomas de la IRA.
Abstract
Identify the knowledge they have the caregivers of children of 9 to 24 months old about the signs and symptoms according to AIEPI strategy (Comprehensive care for prevalent childhood diseases) to recognize the IRA (Acute respiratory infection) and the causes that lead them to consult a health service. In order to meet the general purpose a cuantitative methodology was implemented, used for the data analysis, for the data collection we used a survey that containing twelve questions related to the IRA, the survey was conducted to twenty caregivers of children of 9 to 24 months old attending a children's home. We surveyed to twenty caregivers of children of 9 to 24 months old attending a children's home. Participants had an age range of 19 to 57 years old, the childcare was in chargepredominantly by the female genre, the predominant ducation level was the high school and the outstanding occupation was housewife. Most caregivers don't have enough knowledge about the disease, so the health services visits was presented belatedly and leading to complications. From there we came up the idea of creating educational strategies for the caregivers of children with the intention of strengthening her knowledge, for get a timely identification of signs and symptoms of the IRA, we designed a brochure book that served as a query tool for the caregivers of children and the children's home.
