Abstract
Currently the white-fronted capuchin (Cebus albifrons) is considered a species of primate with a very confusing intraspecific nomenclature (Fragaszy et. Al., 2004) with numerous subspecies escribed because of their high phenotypic variability (Defler, 2003). This problem of nomenclature has implications for conservation actions around Cebus albifrons, because it cannot be defined which is the level of threat that this Capuc hins are facing in front of the loss of their habitat if we doesn t have knowledge of its population structure at the intraspecific level (Ruiz-García et. Al., 2014). Ruiz-Garcia et. al. (2010) conducted the first phylogenetic and phylogeographic study at an intraspecific level for Cebus albifrons showing differences between populations structure of some of its subspecies in Colombia, conversely Boubli et. al. (2012) conducted an analysis showing that at an intraspecific level several subspecies of the white-fronted capuchin had a paraphyletic origin. However, both studies had failed to compare the phylogenetic structure of all subspecies within the full range of the white-fronted capuchin, being repetitive in the needed for a greater coverage analysis.
