The cultural Services bring communities intangible benefits that involve spiritual, recreational and aesthetic aspects. Their relationship with the environment or with others and the way they see and understand the world is made through practices such as the creation of objects that symbolize these thoughts. The raw material for the construction of these objects is found in the nature that surrounds such communities, and the taxonomical groups, like mammals are utilized for this purpose. Colombia possess a great biological and cultural diversity. This representation of cultural diversity is being guard and presented in institutions such as the National Museum of Colombia, that withholds an important collection of ethnographical objects from all around the country. Even the smallest of the 89 pieces representing mammals in the ethnographic collection were taxonomically categorize to its minimum group. From these pieces, it was analyzed variables such as usage, geographical point of origin, taxonomical group and guild, proving that the relationship exist between the biological and cultural components, through the use of different species to meet the diverse necessities of use in the various geographical regions. The relationship between components further details the symbolic characteristics that represents the Jaguar for the Sikuani community, with the Claw crown as a symbol of power, virility and strength, being the first step for the interdisciplinary understanding of the importance that such objects have in terms of what they represent to the indigenous groups and their relationship with the environment.
