Resumen
En el trabajo se hace un recuento histórico de las giras mundiales de algunos de los jazzistas más representativos del género en Estado Unidos, como parte de un programa de política exterior en el marco de la Guerra Fría. Se explica esta iniciativa gracias al concepto de poder blando, desarrollado por el teórico estadounidense Joseph Nye. Se relaciona además este tipo de acciones estatales con el accionar del ser humano en su vida cotidiana. Se aborda además la historia de los inicios del jazz en Estados Unidos, para comprender su valor cultural.
Abstract
In this investigation the history of the world tours by the most representative jazz musicians of the United States is told, as part of a foreign policy program during the Cold War. This initiative is explained thanks to the concept of soft power, developed by the American theorist Joseph Nye. The analysis of this kind of State initiatives is also linked with the way the human being interacts with others. The history of the roots of jazz in the United States is also told, in order to understand its cultural value.
