Asimetría de información en el mercado de la salud en Colombia

Abstract

Este ensayo tiene como propósito mostrar la existencia de la asimetría de la información como un fallo del mercado, frecuente en la prestación de los servicios de salud y, en la que hay una necesidad de intervención del Estado para la corrección de tal situación. En un primer momento se hará una breve reseña de la transformación del sector salud en Colombia, en la que es evidente el comportamiento mercantilista que ha tenido el sector a través del tiempo. En segundo lugar, se presenta una pequeña aproximación a los conceptos de oferta y demanda, y se introduce el conepto de asimetría de la información, propiamente dicho, para luego mostrar los diferentes tipos de asimetría que se han evidenciado en el sector salud. Finalmente, se hacen algunas anotaciones relacionadas. ABSTRACTThis paper has as intention to show to the existence of the asymmetry of the information as a failure of the market, frequents in the benefit of the services of health and, in which there is a necessity of intervention of the State for the correction of such situation.
