Abstract
The late 2008 financial crisis in Spain was mainly due to the inefficient execution of supervision, which altogether with other elements led to the financial system collapse, from which Spain stills recovering. The instruments used by the ECB not only seek to rescue the Spanish system, but to provide it with stability in a way that it can continue to evolve positively. The rescue plan implemented addresses to the restructure of the system and therefore calls for the issue of a new and improved financial regulation.
