Abstract
This paper makes an analysis about the incentives that the most relevant groups have in the decision scenario of Colombia to sustain the conflict or to sign a peace agreement. With that goal in mind, we model some of the most relevant aspects in making decisions about the conflict in Colombia and how they interact with each other. Using a theoretical model, we can identify how the probability that a conservative group, with extreme positions, reaches power modifies the incentives that other social classes have for revolution, and to take measures that mitigate this possibility. Once we were able to identify these channels, we could establish that the relationship between the power of Uribism and the unconditional probability of conflict is not linear if certain conditions are met.
