Abstract
The present work seeks to characterize a virtual course to train teachers in creative cognitive processes. In order to achieve this, a bibliographic review was made that allowed defining what concepts should be left in the virtual course; once this, a script was designed that would be the basis of the production of the course; it became necessary to look for and define the presentation scheme of the course and the platform on which it would be presented. The script was validated by experts and adjustments were made according to their observations.
The virtual course was developed in five modules; in the first one, the participants are asked about the preconception they have about creativity and the approaches that have been studied about creativity are explained; in the second module, it focuses on one of the cognitive models, which is the representational computational model of the mind; the third module works another cognitive model, the geneplore model; the fourth module mentions some guidelines of the systems model and some postulates of Sternberg, which are more in the sociopersonal approach and finally in the fifth module, the meeting points that favor the development of creativity are reviewed, among the presented models and it closes the course.
Among the activities developed in the course are learning activities and reflection activities, which allow the participant to evaluate how he is practicing his teaching practice and gives some guidance on how he could improve it by implementing some criteria of creativity in his teaching practices. The questions and reflections handled in the course are part of the instruments defined to collect and analyze information in this research.
The results were analyzed taking into account the Kirkpatrick criteria for measuring impact of training actions, in which the first level is reaction, the second is learning, the third behavior and the four is the impact itself; in this investigation only the first two levels were reached and the third was projected based on one of the applied instruments.
How the course was developed, the levels of impact analyzed and the discussion of these results is what can be found in the present work.
