Abstract
Las Cruces, is one of the first neighborhoods to settle in Bogotá. Over time, the neighborhood was characterized by being worker and artisan, therefore, from the beginning, Las Cruces sheltered low-income population, since many inhabitants were displaced from the rural sector. Currently the neighborhood is considered one of the most dangerous sectors of the city.
Las Cruces has various equipment of: worship, health, education and supply. However, the neighborhood does not have cultural centers that generate social welfare in the area. So it is relevant to design an equipment to generate social integration in the neighborhood, understanding that it is one of the most critical crime's area.
It is necessary to create an urban proposal, so that the sector as a whole is related to the different elements around it. The proposal seeks to restore and create connections, in different systems, to interact with each other, so you want to implement a poly-functional model in the sector, giving hierarchy to communal spaces, connecting them through pedestrian corridors to improve life urban sector.
Through the urban proposal, new housing spaces and cultural equipments were projected to solve the lack of these. The cultural center seeks citizen participation, which has as its fundamental principle to be open to all citizens without any discrimination. It aims to enhance the life of the neighborhood and acquire its own identity through services offered according to the needs and demands of the neighborhood.
