Resumen
La tarea teológica es una reflexión crítica y creyente de la realidad histórica. La teología del laicado formulada en el Concilio Vaticano II describió la identidad, la responsabilidad y el lugar del laico en la Iglesia y en el mundo. En este sentido, este trabajo pretende conocer el significado y pertinencia histórico-teológica de las acciones laicales en Puerto Rico. Específicamente indagar cómo fueron acogidas en la Iglesia de Puerto Rico las indicaciones e interpelaciones sobre el laicado del Concilio y refrendadas por las conferencias del Episcopado Latinoamericano y Caribeño. Asimismo, identificar acciones, movimientos y comunidades eclesiales destacados como muestra del impulso y promoción que dio el Concilio al compromiso y la corresponsabilidad de los laicos en la misión de la Iglesia. Se entiende que la praxis laical constituye en sí misma una categoría hermenéutica relevante. En definitiva, se propone conformar una nueva comprensión del laicado desde el contexto puertorriqueño en vías a superar el divorcio entre fe y vida.
Abstract
The theological task is a critical and believing reflection of historical reality. The theology of the laity formulated in the Second Vatican Council described the identity, responsibility and place of the laity in the Church and in the world. In this sense, this work seeks to know the meaning and historical-theological relevance of lay actions in Puerto Rico. Specifically to inquire how the indications and interpellations on the laity of the Council and endorsed by the conferences of the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopate were accepted in the Church of Puerto Rico. Likewise, identify outstanding actions, movements and ecclesial communities as a sign of the impulse and promotion that the Council gave to the commitment and co-responsibility of the laity in the mission of the Church. It is understood that lay praxis constitutes in itself a relevant hermeneutical category. In short, it is proposed to shape a new understanding of the laity from the Puerto Rican context in ways to overcome the divorce between faith and life.
