"The abysses reviewed", the text that I present as work of degree, found its origin in personal concerns that were arising from the congruence of my two university careers (Literary Studies and Mathematics), and was built from different readings and reflections that emerged from them. The objective, broadly speaking, was to review some concepts that appear in the discourse surrounding science and literature, and to question the apparently irreconcilable separations between the two. To achieve this goal, I took as the "object of study" the same themes that allowed me to spin the concepts. The body of the text is thus organized around work and inspiration, imagination and curiosity, and progress. Subsequently, the work proposes creation as a culminating meeting point between science and literature: both, in effect, create a portion of truth, of the world, from each of its corners. The concept of creation is extended as its agency is recognized in both fields: in both it operates in a different way, but it continues to find its place.
