Abstract
As a child, oblivious to the behavior of time, I let memories float in the mist of my mind piling up year after year until they were relegated and lost deep inside my head. It was not until adulthood, worried about the passing of the years, the marks of time in my loved ones and the ephemerality of life, that I felt the need to pay attention to them, write them down and collect them to keep them physically.
As a result of the concern about forgetting and the importance of memory as a tool to perpetuate life through memory, I began to build an autobiographical narrative through objects belonging to personal environments and my everyday life. This being the first time that I document and make an archive of my life, I inquired about its nature, understanding its function as a protector against the death drive symbolized in oblivion in Ana María Guasch's texts, through emotionality and intimacy Inside the works Sophie Calle and the Time Capsules by Andy Warhol as an important point of reference when defining this work.
1994-2019 Memory capsule emulates the device used in time capsules. This work keeps the personal memory and context of the artist in the city, to be opened within 200 years in the distant and uncertain future.
