Resumen
Este trabajo se ocupa de responder las siguientes preguntas: ¿Cómo ha cambiado la forma en que los occidentales entienden la medicina indígena (es decir, aquellas prácticas que involucran el uso ritual de plantas)? ¿Cómo los indígenas se han adaptado a los cambios de occidente para conservar sus prácticas médicas tradicionales? A lo largo de la investigación, se identifican tres etapas en el pensamiento occidental, desde la conquista de América hasta el presente. Cada una de ellas corresponde a tres paradigmas distintos: el paradigma religioso, el paradigma moderno y el paradigma de la crisis de occidente.
Abstract
This work deals with answering the following questions: how does the way westerners understand indigenous medicine has changed (by indigenous medicine, meaning those practices that involve the ritual use of plants)? How does the indigenous people have adapted to these changes brought by westerners in order to conserve their traditional medicinal practices? throughout this invstigation, you will see three stages that are identified in the western way of thinking since the European Conquest of the American continent, till the present day. Each one of them corresponds to three different paradigms: religious paradigm, modern paradigm and the paradigm of the crisis in western civilization.
