Reliability of a protocol for the measurement of maximum strength selected in the city of Bogota (pilot test)résumé
Abstrait
In this study, 15 male participants, residents of the city of Bogotá, who were active in employment, were recruited in operational areas of the construction sector, with no muscle injuries at the time of the test, no diagnosis completed or in the process of being studied for possible muscle disorders skeletal; to estimate the degree of reliability of a standardized isometric maximum force measurement protocol in three positions relevant to industrial operations. The results showed excellent reliability for all three positions, with an ICC = 0.93 in the measurement of force to lift load from a level below the waist, ICC = 0.94 to pull load between waist and shoulder and ICC = 0.81 to download above shoulder level. No investigations have been reported in which the CONTREX dynamometer used in this study was used with the different positions analyzed to calculate the ICC; however, Axelsso & Kärrholm (2016) calculated coefficients of 0.91 and 0.98 using the Baseline and Kern dynamometer respectively; for neutral lifting with one hand measuring the isometric force. In another study, an ICC of 0.92 was determined in the measurement of isometric lifting force using a Cybex Liftask dynamometer. Data close to those determined in this investigation.
