Sports, resilience and social inclusion in people with acquired physical disabilityrésumé
Abstrait
This degree work is a case study, framed in a qualitative methodology, using the semi-structured interview and an axiological information coding as a tool. Its objective is to understand the incidence of sport in the processes of social inclusion and resilience in people with acquired physical disabilities (PwD). A man and a woman were interviewed, adults with physical disability acquired for twenty years. Both are paralympic athletes, the man for twenty years and the woman for a year and a half. The different transitional processes of each one are described, from the moment they acquired the disability and their relationship with the sport in their readjustments and readaptations. In the results, it was found that sport facilitates the processes of social inclusion and resilience in the interviewees. It is concluded that there is a dynamic interaction between resilience and social inclusion and that sport acts as a resilience tutor and rehabilitation resource for PwD, as long as there are favorable and inclusive conditions within the context of the individual.
