Unveiling the interstice between citizenship and statelessnessrésumé
Abstrait
The classic concept of citizenship has been expanding its validity and affecting more and more spheres of reality, it has become a global cohesion discourse, promoted and promulgated by States and International Institutions. Although before the citizenship benefited a small elite, today it is a minority that does not enjoy this status. These people are called stateless, defined as persons who are not considered nationals by any State under its legislation.
Bearing in mind that citizenship and statelessness by definition are opposites, it is possible that a hierarchy is constructed between these two terms in which one meaning is marginalized by the other. This explains what Jacques Derrida believes is a binary opposition, which is defined as a confrontation between two hierarchical binary structures such as speech-writing, man-woman, dominant-dominated. However, once you deconstruct this opposition, you understand that is full of paradoxes and aporias.
This document seeks to deconstruct the opposition between citizenship and statelessness, giving evidence alternate discourses in the interstice of the polarization of these two concepts. The aim of this process is to find possibilities to conceptually transformation this binary structure of opposition and to reach the responsibility that the Derridean philosophy seeks.
