Abstract
Evidence of an association between congenital anomalies (CAs) other than neural tube defects (NTDs), such as congenital urinary tract and genital anomalies (CUGAs), and folic acid (FA) use is still inconclusive [1]. CUGAs comprise a broad spectrum of anomalies with high prevalence. Between 1981 and 2013, the CUGA prevalence in the Northern Netherlands was 45.6 per 10 000 births (50.1 per 10 000 live births).
