The reconciliation, joyful gift of the compassion of God, a contribute to the new Christian generationsResumen
Abstract
The questions that led to the realization of this work, arise of the experience of Christian life of the group of researchers, from their daily practice, from their spiritual life and from their constant closeness to the young people of their contexts. The intention is to respond to and contribute to the realities that are presented today with regard to the practice of the sacraments, more specifically the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the new generations.
These concerns provide some arguments to validate and recover the practice of forgiveness and reconciliation as indispensable elements in theological, pastoral and pedagogical compendia that allow young people to base their understanding and experience of the sacrament of Reconciliation, so that they can contribute to the transformation of today's world from the evangelical ideals of forgiveness and mercy.
The meaning of this sacrament comes from the same mystery of divine revelation, which was carried out by our Lord Jesus Christ, who has reconciled all mankind with the good and merciful God. It is also inspired by the constant attitude of Jesus to welcome the repentant sinner and offer him a new path to be forged with love and humility. Those of us who believe in Him, the God of mercy, forgiveness and love, receive from His Spirit the gift and ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor 5, 17-20).
For this reason, we have considered it important to focus our work on this precious sacrament, practiced since the beginning of Christianity, and which must be lived very seriously if we want to build a world according to God's will and contribute to overcoming the many hatreds, divisions, conflicts and violence that invade us. We recognize that this is a propitious time to witness to His love and mercy.
The work is structured in four chapters in which: first, we propose the guidelines and orientations that will guide the research process. Second, we takle the sacrament of Reconciliation or penance from the biblical and theological perspective, taking into account the contributions of the Latin American and Caribbean magisterium. Third, we inquired in the community about the understanding of this sacrament and its possible impact on social coexistence. And finally, we have elaborated some pastoral guidelines that will allow us to contribute to a renovation of this sacrament so that it can be lived as a joyful gift that makes us really feel the merciful presence of our God.
