Identification with participation of the community organizations alternative tourist routes in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú taking advantage of the natural and cultural offer of the terrytoryResumen
Abstract
This document is the result of applied research conducted in the municipality of Tolú, which has a problem of high levels of poverty in the native population despite having a wide and varied natural and cultural wealth that can be used to implement alternative tourism where the native communities are the protagonists, improving their income and maintaining control of the territory they inhabit with its resources. The research identified the capacities of the local community organizations to participate actively in the tourism business, these communities established the environmental and cultural possibilities of the territory and identified two tourist routes that they named: La Ciénaga de La Leche: a natural experience for your senses and Easter in Tolú: enrich your spirit. It can be concluded that, although there are community organizations that are working in the tourism sector, they provide marginal services that leave little profit and makes them compete among each other, they have little administrative, management and incidence capacities and are not organized. However, they clearly identify alternative tourism routes that can be implemented in accordance with the environmental and cultural offer of their territory and demonstrate the ancestral knowledge that they have and that they can put at the service of tourism to improve their living conditions by protecting and valuing their natural resources and traditions.
