Genesis of the material : the life as excess. An investigation of life in LeibnizZusammenfassung
This works aims to present the importance that the concept of life in the Leibniz’s monadological system, importance that made clear through the active and self-sufficient of this concept. In this respect, this document seeks make explicit the presence of life within Leibniz’s monadological system, thus showing its importance as the articulating axis of the system. To achieve this end, its essential distinguish two kinds of matters. On the one hand, the non-corporeal fractal matter, which belong to the aggregates, which are part of the mineral kingdom; on the other hand, the organic-corporeal matter, which belongs to the bodily substances, these are part of the vegetable and animal kingdoms. Thus, to develop the above this will be divided into three parts. In the first, it is intended to show how Leibniz moves the concept of life from a geometrical-mechanical understanding to a mechanical-vitalist one; in the second it is intended to make explicit both the fundamental character of the monad in Leibnizian ontology and the intermonadic background that the continuum has; in the third it is intended to show, by means of the organic corporeal matter, the communicating structure of the corporeal substance and the development of that structure through the different types of living beings found in the world.
