Segunda versión de una prueba para evaluar comprensión de lectura

La presente investigación da cuenta del diseño de una segunda versión de la prueba de criterio de comprensión de lectura que el grupo de investigación Lenguaje y Cognición de la Facultad de Comunicación y Lenguaje de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana realizó, para evaluar el nivel de desempeño en comprensión de lectura de los estudiantes que ingresan a los programas de Ciencia Política y Comunicación Social. Para ello, se construyó y piloteó una prueba que consta de 30 ítems, los cuales se pilotearon con 18 estudiantes de primer semestre de Enfermería. Con base en estos datos se evaluaron cada una de las preguntas y la prueba en general. Lo cual es posible establecer que la mayoría de los ítems son de complejidad media lo que corresponde al 44 % del total de ítems. Por otra parte hay 6 ítems de complejidad baja que equivale a un 20% y 6 ítemes en complejidad alta con un 20%. Los ítems restantes están en complejidad o muy alta o muy baja lo que generó alerta ya que corresponde al 16% del total. Por lo anterior, se sugirió modificar 18 opciones de respuesta de 120 opciones en total y 2 ítems de 30 que posee la prueba de lectura. Con el anterior análisis, se puede asumir que la segunda versión de la prueba de lectura en general está en un nivel medio de dificultad lo cual era un objetivo en la realización de la misma; lo que indica que en un futuro la prueba podrá aplicarse con modificaciones menores sugeridas a partir del estudio.

Abstract

This research is the second version of the criteria for the reading comprehension test that was created by “Lenguage y Cognición of Javeriana University in 2007in order to know the performance of the candidates for the degrees in Political Sciences and Journalism, First of all, we designed the test with 30 items. Additionally, 18 students from nursing school took the pilot survey. Then, with the information collected and the analysis of each question; it is possible to establish that most of the results are measured in a medium level of difficulty with 44% of all the items evaluated. There are 6 items with 20 % of high level of complexity and with the same number of items with a low difficulty giving the test another 20 %. The rest of the results were measured with very high or very low results with 16%. That is why, that 16 % for us was a concerning matter and guided us to modify 18 ways to answer the 120 options in total and 2 items of the questions from the survey. This analysis accomplished what we wanted and expected a medium level of difficulty for the candidates. For that reason, it is important to say that the second version of the criteria reading comprehension test is applicable with the modifications that were suggested previously.
