Fashion as instrument of hegemony that perpetuates western visionResumen
Abstract
Throughout time, fashion has been configured as a fundamental instrument for social relations and also for international relations. Over time this phenomenon has gained ground in political, economic and social affairs; reaching a global expansion and a hegemony over them. This hegemony can only be understood through the elements that constitute it and its effects on the social environment. The effects of fashion transcend borders, its discourse is about power and dominance, its processes are hegemonic; it is and has been indomitable and at the same time unsustainable, and thus, fashion has become a highly problematic institution, but at the same time exalted and loved by society. Therefore, this work seeks to analyze and demonstrate how the phenomenon of fashion has become an instrument with hegemonic faculties in modern society, which is driven mainly by the West, leaving various effects and consequences at the international level.
