Between frames and digital media : colombian citizens' perception of Venezuelan immigration and their relation to the use of social mediaResumen
En este trabajo de grado se realizó una aproximación a la influencia que pueden tener el uso de internet y de redes sociales en la percepción de los ciudadanos colombianos frente a la inmigración venezolana. Este trabajo de grado tuvo como base teórica el Framing y el Priming, teorías que permitieron entender los encuadres temáticos de los discursos en Twitter de los políticos de orden nacional y como tratan de crear una realidad acerca del fenómeno de la inmigración venezolana. Por medio de una propuesta metodológica que incluyó modelos estadísticos descriptivos e inferenciales, y análisis propios de la Ciencia de Datos se analizó este fenómeno identificando y describiendo como el uso de internet y de redes sociales llega a afectar la percepción de los ciudadanos. Se encontró que el uso de internet y redes sociales como Facebook y Twitter pueden llegar a tener una influencia positiva en la percepción de los ciudadanos, además, que los políticos de orden nacional no han abordado a profundidad el tema de la inmigración venezolana en sus discursos en Twitter, y que tienden a relacionar este tema con críticas hacía el gobierno del Estado Venezolano.
Abstract
In this undergraduate work, an approximation was made to the influence that the use of the internet and social networks can have on the perception of Colombian citizens over Venezuelan immigration. This undergraduate work was theoretically based on Framing and Priming, theories that allowed us to understand the thematic framing of Thematic Discourses on Twitter of national politicians and how they seek to create a reality about the phenomenon of Venezuelan immigration.
Through a methodological proposal that included descriptive and inferential statistical models, and data science analysis, this phenomenon was analyzed by identifying and describing how the use of the internet and social networks affects the perception of citizens.
It was found that the use of the internet and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter can have a positive influence on citizens' perceptions, moreover, that national politicians have not edrained the issue of Venezuelan immigration in their Twitter speeches, and that they tend to link this issue to criticism of the Venezuelan state government.
