This thesis highlights the changes in human fertility to sign the decline in fertility rates worldwide and nationally. The demographic transition as a global trend, advances in reproductive medicine, and gender demands from feminism, new masculinities and the LGBTi + population are taken into account. It concludes with several projections and changes in the population structure and therefore the demand for health and education services, as well as new needs and challenges to face fertility.
