Confront the global death machine : territory, nature and culture in "Elástico de sombra" by Juan Cárdenasrésumé
Abstrait
"Elástico de sombra" is a novel that makes visible the battles for the appropiation of the territory and the ecosystems, that emerge from the colective resistance established through social and political movements that oppose to the occidental logics of neoliberalism, by allowing and giving the spotlight to the diversity of voices and agencies that coexist in the afrocaucan knowledge. Through this novel, this work seeks to comprehend the relationships and alliances that are deployed between territory, nature and culture, from theories such as ecocriticism, perfomance, political ecology and posthumanism. As well as tracing the meeting points that are found in the novel between the social movements of the communities from the Cauca region, the defense of the territory, the representations of the landscape and the nature, from ways of resistance to the neoliberal preactices of the White Man, as Cárdenas calls it.
