The holiness of the Virgin Mary in the writings of Saint Teresa of Lisieux. A proposal for the Christian life todayZusammenfassung
This research is contextualized within the Carmelite charism, which has its roots in the figure that the avengelio presents to us about Mother Jesus. We can easily verify that at present there is a lack of knowledge of the figure of Mary and her leading role in the history of salvation; most likely, because we have not returned to the biblical roots, to establish from there a spirituality in which Mary is sister and companion on the path of the human being, so that “her real life can be seen, not her imaginary life ."
Teresa of Lisieux, makes a contribution to theology based on her understanding of Mary, in which she is "imitable and not inaccessible" hence the saint of Lixieus insists on the need to return to the main source of Mariology which is the gospel. Many times we have expanded her figure, showing her distant because of the Christian life and making her lose the category of Mother close to the Christian. On many occasions it seems to be forgotten that Mary also had to suffer and live by faith. For this reason, it is important to retake the character of Mother, mother of Jesus and our mother, because the way in which Mary is conceived will be the way in which the Christian approaches her.
In this same perspective, special attention will be paid to the figure of Mary in the writings of Saint Teresa of Lisieux, specifically in the works Historia de un alma, Poesías (54) and Últimas Conversaciones, in which she develops a Mariological spirituality circumscribed in a experience that springs from the gospel and presents her as a holy woman. In this sense and in light of the call to holiness expressed in the apostolic exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate, we will seek to propose Mary as an imitable model of holiness in today's ecclesial reality.
